Plus d'info
Established in 1998, Gondo Coffee Factory serves 727 producers in Murang’a County, Kenya. At this cooperatively run washing station, producers selectively hand-pick ripe red cherries and deliver them to the wet mill the same day for processing. The cherries are wet-processed using fresh, clean water from the nearby Kananahu stream. To protect the environment, the processing water is recirculated before being disposed of in evaporation and seepage pits, preventing acidification of local waterways.
The pulped beans undergo fermentation for 16–18 hours to remove mucilage, after which they are washed, graded, carefully dried, and dry-milled for export. The resulting coffee is delicate and sweet, showcasing the most distinctive qualities of high-quality Kenyan coffee. With notes of berries and citrus, complex tea-like tannins, and a silky, buttery finish, this coffee is an absolute joy from the first sip to the last.
