Plus d'info
Ethiopia’s Illubabor Zone is one of the country’s most fertile coffee regions, sitting between 1,400 and 2,100 metres above sea level. The climate is warm and temperate, with more than 1,800 mm of rainfall each year, creating ideal conditions for coffee and dense vegetation. Farms here often combine coffee with native shade trees like the false banana, a practice that helps regulate temperature, enrich the soil, and maintain biodiversity.
The community washing station, established in 2015, processes 300–400 tons of coffee each year. Lots are kept separate and carefully tracked from delivery to milling to preserve their distinct character. Most producers are Oromo, and their traditions remain central to daily life. Knowledge passed down through generations shapes the way coffee is grown, processed, and shared, resulting in cups of exceptional quality.
